Rush’s neuroscience program is considered among the nation's best. U.S.News & World Report has ranked the program 14th in the nation. Because of this expertise, Rush is uniquely positioned to be a leader in discovery over the next decade — from new markers for Alzheimer’s disease and revolutionary surgeries for “untreatable” epilepsy to brain stimulators that help stop the tremors of Parkinson disease.

The campaign will accelerate progress in neuroscience through the Rush Neuroscience Institute. As a result, Chicago’s fastest-growing neurosurgery program will offer patients advanced care in the new hospital’s state-of-the-art operating rooms and endovascular suites. Rush’s internationally recognized Parkinson disease program will assume even greater prominence as it expands its translational research activities, including gene-based and cellular therapies.

Additionally, in a tremendous show of confidence in Rush's work in the area of movement disorders, the Parkinson’s Disease Foundation has agreed to match, dollar for dollar, every gift to Rush's Section of Parkinson Disease and Movement Disorders, up to $325,000 annually.
